Alaska Iditarod & Mushing

Dog mushing is Alaska’s state sport and the Iditarod is the granddaddy of all sled dog races in the world. More people have summitted Mount Everest than have finished the Iditarod. 

This gallery of Alaska Iditarod and dog mushing photos consists of some of my all-time favorite images of the sport including recreational dog mushers.  These include pictures of world-famous mushers such as Joe Redington Sr., Rick Swenson, Aliy Zirkle, Dee Dee Jonrowe, Jeff King, Susan Butcher and Libby Riddles.
